Case Study: Better Performance with DSO in Cloud Consolidations at Boardwalk Pipeline

Cloud computing has revolutionized the way that companies of all sizes and industries do business, including the financial consolidation & close process. So, it is not a surprise that Oracle’s consolidation application in the cloud EPM suite has done very well with customers. Although FCC provides several enhancements like the addition of the Data Source and Movement dimension, configurable calculations and translations, and Ownership Management, Boardwalk experienced a decline in performance related to consolidation and data retrievals times in comparison to the HFM on premise application.

To optimize performance in these areas, in August 2021 Oracle EPM Cloud introduced a capability to create new or migrate existing FCC application to a Dense-Sparse optimized application.
